Dr. LaNasa’s interest in medicine developed through a strong foundation in math, physics, and biology. During medical school at the University of Virginia, exposure to multiple oncology specialties led to a deep interest in radiation oncology. The field’s precise, non-invasive approach to treating cancer resonated with his scientific background and desire to make a meaningful impact in patient care.
Early in his career, Dr. LaNasa owned and operated cancer centers in New York before relocating to Texas. There, he had the opportunity to design a radiation oncology department and establish a successful radiosurgery program in partnership with a medical oncology group. In 2009, he collaborated with a large urology practice to open a cancer center in Arlington, where he has been committed to providing patient-centered care ever since. In 2025, he joined Urology Partners of North Texas, where he continues to refine clinical pathways and advance cancer care.
Dr. LaNasa remains focused on informing patients of their findings and options and alleviating the anxiety that can be associated with treatment. While technology and treatment strategies evolve, he believes the cornerstone of effective care remains strong patient relationships and clear, compassionate communication.
Outside of his medical practice, Dr. LaNasa prioritizes family and enjoys golf, reading, home renovation projects, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
