Growing up in Paris, Texas, Dr. Xavier spent a lot of time in the hospital watching the positive impact his physician parents made in their small community. “I remember wanting to do what they did because I saw my parents really enjoyed their work and helping people,” he says.

Being part of a close-knit community had a lot to do with his decision to become a physician, and laid the foundation for knowing how to develop a bond with his patients.

“Urology is very personal because a lot of the time you’re dealing with a very private area of the body,” he says. “It’s very important that my patients feel comfortable and trust me. I try to begin developing that relationship during our first office visit. I’ve been a patient before, so I know what it’s like to be in a vulnerable position. I build trust by being honest and open, educating them about all the possibilities, and treating them the way I’d like to be treated. Those patient interactions are the best part of my job.”

As a founder of Urology Partners, Dr. Xavier performs a wide variety of minimally invasive treatments for overactive bladder, daytime and nighttime urinary frequency, stress urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, prostate disorders, voiding issues, kidney stones, post-prostate cancer treatment incontinence, and more.

His fellowship in female urology, neurourology, and stone disease at New York’s Columbia University makes him uniquely qualified to help women and men—especially with bladder and prostate disorders that cause incontinence, overactive bladder, pelvic organ prolapse, and other urinary issues.

Dr. Xavier is a graduate of Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas, and completed his general surgery internship and urology residency at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center in Albuquerque. He resides in the metroplex with his wife, Margaret, and their two sons, and enjoys sports and travel.
