Dr. Moore remembers spending a lot of time at his father’s dental practice when he was growing up. “I saw the connection he made with his patients,” he says. “Their visits never began with a conversation about dental problems. Instead, it was always talk about what was happening in their lives. My dad’s patients were an extension of his family.”

It’s a model that Dr. Moore follows with his own patients. “My dad and mom both have huge hearts, and I believe their influence has shaped the way I treat patients,” he says. “I couldn’t practice medicine without making a connection with people. To me, we’re not patient and physician—we’re both people with a story and have a human relationship. Gaining their trust is my number one goal, because with trust their care becomes a partnership. When people feel that, they relax and don’t feel they’re being judged. They feel like they’re talking to a trusted member of their family.”

Although he followed in his father’s footsteps and earned his undergraduate degree at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Dr. Moore chose to attend medical school rather than dental school. He earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio, and selected urology because he liked the variety of patient care and surgery. “It’s a well-defined field that you can learn very well and keep up with the cutting-edge changes,” he adds. He honed his skills during residencies in general surgery and urology at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City.

Dr. Moore has been caring for the men and women of Fort Worth since 1996. He credits his mother’s long-time community service and volunteerism as inspiring his deep involvement with the community. Dr. Moore has served as the former chief of staff of Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth, an assistant professor at TCU Medical School, and a supporting team physician for the TCU Athletic Department.

Now as a founder of the physician-led Urology Partners, he’s excited to practice medicine devoted to providing patients with compassionate, world-class care in a practice that is very clear about its physician-led mission—patients first.

“It’s very rewarding when a patient who is scared or miserable entrusts me to help them change that. I enjoy guiding them through the decision process, and determining how we can improve their quality of life—whether they suffer from urinary issues, an enlarged prostate, prostate cancer or kidney stones,” he says. “Their outcome is deeply important to me. Having them come back and tell me how much their life has improved really means a lot to me.”

When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Moore enjoys adventures with his family, attending his kids sporting events, reading, camping, and of course, cheering for the TCU Horned Frogs.
